Euphoria's a pretty cutthroat show. It's vulgar, edgy, trashy, but in an extremely glamorous aesthetic that over the course of seasons 1 to 2 fades from the hallucinogenic-esque color grading that honestly defined 2019-2020 to one that feels more intimate, warm, and textured in season 2. Honestly, credit where due, the cinematography was nothing short of perfect in this show. Especially to Petra Collins for the dream-like colors of season 1. I feel like this show is maybe losing some of its engagement and demographic due to all the more recent controversies surrounding some actors, Barbie (Kat) leaving the show, Labrinth, the artist responsible for the gorgeous soundtrack of the two seasons of euphoria leaving and calling out the show on Instagram, and just the general fact that all the smaller actors we saw in Euphoria in 2019 have moved on from just being TV stars and are now onto bigger projects. They seemed pretty disinterested, and there seemed to be a consensus that we wouldn't be getting more from Euphoria in the future.

I generally thought that the first episode of the third season was alright. The introductory episode to the season is no Season 2, episode 1. Though I feel like people aren't giving the show a chance yet to elaborate on the storyline. Faye and Rue's storyline honestly makes complete sense; it's far from a Breaking Bad storyline, but it's honestly slightly cliche. I'm excited to see how Nate's and Cassie's play out!!

To say Euphoria is a revolutionary, or the only show in terms of being the ultimate experimental, provocative, relevant storyline, which is reflective of the raw, disturbing truths of the contemporary world, would probably be an exaggerated statement. If I were to tell you a show that does this, though, I would go for Skins. It doesn't feel like I'm staying more so for the sake of the drama, the love-triangles, the actors, or the cinematography and soundtrack. Skins (especially generation 1) truly has some of the best character arcs of all time, and that's what makes the show stick for me.
